MAY 11 – “Purple Martins and Tree Swallows Up Close”
SEA will be joining the Cape Arago Audubon Society for a day of birding on land and on water with group leader Joe Metzger to learn about Tree Swallows, Purple Martins, and Wood Ducks. Participants will join a bird walk around the pond and hear Joe talk about Purple Martins, Tree Swallows, and Wood Ducks. Following the hike participants are invited to paddle their own small water craft (canoe, kayak, or small boat) around the pond for a different view of these birds and their nests and bird boxes.
Location: Johnson Mill Pond County Park, 3 miles South of Coquille on the West side of Hwy 42.
The program begins at 8 AM.
